My blog is running on Wordpress. One of the great things about Wordpress is all the plugins. There’s a lot of plugins and some of them are really great.
The problem however, is that there’s no standard javascript library. So every (fancy) plugin loads it’s own library, which slows the blog heavily down. The load time of this blog was almost 10 seconds on a 1.44 mbit connection. After doing some optimizations and disabling some plugins (removing the fancy image effect, lightbox, alone took away 3 seconds) the blog now loads in 5 seconds on a 1.44 connection.

Nice, Jon. That was what i hated the most about this blog. The slow load time.
Now it loads on 2 sec on my 24/1 mbit connection. ;)
