Comments on: Easy Peasy 1.1 RC2 due any day now

I have tried EasyPeasy 1.1 RC2 on my Eee 702 (same as 701, but with 8Go of SSD). It looks and feel much better than 1.0, but I have a couple of issues: the dark blue background is not dark enough, and that makes the screen a bit uncomfortable. My main issue is with the Wifi connection, it is not working well (it picks up the signal, but it’s impossible to access the internet). Wifi used to work with Ubuntu Eee 8.04.1, and it stopped since EasyPeasy 1.0.

NICO, Glad you got the 3G connection to work. NetworkManager hasn’t been upgraded since November, but I bet Gnome have some great features up their sleeves for the 2.28 release this fall

I am new to Linux and have found the handling of wireless networking very frustrating and disappointing, until I found EasyPeasy1.0.

It worked first time out of the box with my new MSI Wing U100.

Not got any version going on my HP DV2104eu laptop. Yet.

Looking forward to new releases

I notice that your site does not display correctly on easy-peasy running on an Asus Eee 4G. The left side of the screen is cut off, even when scrolled as far left as possible. Is this a known problem? It makes your page impossible to read.

I saw the blueprint, but it doesn’t seem to include any features or a recognizable changelog. Any help? I’m really just looking for a description of 1.1 and its differences from 1.0.

Hey, I did a new system update and the problem I wrote about was resolved, noy my 3G connection works.

Another question: is there aby chanche to have a better version of the NetWork Manager, to be able to set the type of connection (3g, only umts, only gprs) and the amount of MB exchanged during the session?

Hi guys, I’m italian and have a problem.

I have an ACER ASPIRE ONE A110 with 3G-modem embedded http://www.acer.it/acer/product.do?link=oln23g.redirect&changedAlts=&kcond5e.c2att92=824&CRC=2317319665

The name of the modem 3g embedded is GTM380 E, product by OPTION.

I installed EeasyPeasy 1.0 and everything works. But when I try to connect with 3G I have problems. I set up my mobile connection in the NetWork Manager, and I’m sure to have put in the right configuration. Then I click on NetworkManager and select my new mobile connection, it tries to connect but nothing works, it tries for some minutes and then stops trying without any results.

What’s the problem? Help me, please.

I loved Easy Peasy the moment I boted it up on my HP Mini 1000. Finally a good looking Linux distro for us netbook guys! Then, the awful reality hit me. This distro wasn’t for netbooks, it was just for Eee PC’s (Even though it says it’s for other Netbooks too). Everything appears to work except both the wired and wireless network interfaces. The operating system sees and identifies them but, can’t communicate with them. No easy way to fix it either, just look at the forums!!

So, here you have this outstanding Linux distro (I still love the look of it) that is confined to Eee PC’s. I do hope you consider other brand netbooks a bit more. The minute your distro can support the HP Mini, I’ll be back to it in a flash!!

Keep up the good work and expand your horizons to other branded netbooks.
